Why focus on sex-based differences?
Biological sex impacts every aspect of health — from disease risk and symptoms to how treatments work. Yet, sex-based differences are often missing from medical education, clinical guidelines, and healthcare delivery. This gap leaves women at risk for misdiagnosis, delayed care, and poorer outcomes.
Ignoring these differences limits our ability to deliver truly personalized care. Precision medicine isn’t possible without integrating sex-based knowledge at every level of healthcare.
